A new year means new technology, new goals and new marketing trends. Last year, we saw plenty of short form videos, the rise of new platforms, and an increase in AI usage. It’s important to think ahead as a brand and predict what trends in 2024, because moving on those trends early and efficiently will put your business a step above the rest. So what are some of the trends to watch? Read on to find out!
Video Content is on the Rise
We have all seen the countless videos on our feeds. Not to mention, the platforms that have increased in popularity due to their short form videos (hello, TikTok). However, as AI becomes more commonly used, videos are critical in building trust and authentically showcasing your company. Additionally, social media platforms prioritize video content, which will increase your reach. Based on a 2023 Sprout Social study, more than 54% of marketers say video is the most valuable content for achieving their goals. However, approximately only 10% of content across Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter is video. Being in that 10% will differentiate your company. 93% of companies have acquired new customers via social media video.

Quality Over Quantity
Until recently, companies have been advised to post daily (or even more!) in order to get the most out of their social media platforms. That is likely going to change in 2024. In fact, there will likely be a shift where consumers and followers are looking for quality content. Quality content means adding value. This type of content can be advice or even entertainment!
Personal Touches Count
As uncertainty and distrust in industries increases, it is becoming more critical for companies to add personal touches to their marketing. Options include showcasing employees, including testimonials, or incorporating the company back story into the marketing. This allows consumers to feel connected to the company and will build trust.

AI has Arrived
AI is on the rise, and it is important that companies use it to supplement their marketing while still producing the work mentioned above. AI, such as ChatGPT, can be used to focus on more mundane tasks so your major marketing can get more attention. It is also worth noting that although AI is changing the game for content, it is still important to remember to use a consistent brand voice as you create content.
Influencers Matter
The use of influencer marketing is on the rise. As the use of influencers in marketing becomes more prominent, it is necessary for companies to find influencers that align with their values and create authentic content that will align with the target audience.
